The main legal points
- The NOIM must be received at least one calendar month before the marriage and no more than 18 months before it.
- The marriage itself must happen in person.
- You need two witnesses aged 18 or over.
- You must provide evidence of identity, date and place of birth, and the end of any previous marriage if relevant.
